Hormonal acne causes are basically just like its name: hormonal changes. Other than that, this condition simply refers to acne or acne vulgaris. There are varied severity levels that commonly affect the face hit by acne. But of course this is treatable since it is a common skin condition.

What is hormonal acne?

Acne is a certain skin condition that mainly affects the face or upper trunk. It also includes the base of your hairs. As it has been said earlier, there is a range related to the acne severity level. It starts with papules, pustules, nodules, and cyst is the worst. People call it hormonal acne because this condition is simply due to the body response of hormonal changes in your body. It is sometimes linked to teenagers who are going through puberty.

What does cause pimples?

Everything you do that makes the hormonal changes will cause acne. Menstruation, puberty stage, bad diet, and so son can lead to hormonal acne.

Puberty stage will be the most common stage to develop acne because your body produces plenty hormone testosterone during the puberty. Hormonal acne symptoms are just like the usual acne you have.

When the testosterone in the body is increasing, the production of sebum is also getting higher. It makes your skin oily which can block the hair follicles. When your skin is not clean enough then it can clog the pores which will lead to white or blackhead. This condition might be getting worse if there is infection due to bacterial that stays inside the clogged pores. When your immune system tries to fight the bacterial then you may find there is infection on your face. Well, the blackhead or whitehead will not be inflamed though. But the pimples will.

So, if you find out that your skin is more oily and stickier than it used to, it may be one of the hormonal acne symptoms. Besides, you need to pay more attention if you see the blackhead or whitehead near the nose or other area on your face.

Myth about hormonal acne causes

There are a lot of myths spread on the community about the cause of acne. These following causes are not proven since the scientific evidence is not available as well. The myths are such as:
